| Installing a tradepoint Made easy! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Cut a slot 1 full inch in depth with a bandsaw, or hacksaw blade. Make sure the slot is as centered and straight as you can humanly get it. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Sand the tip of the shaft so that the end is tapered. If it remains a flat tip it will impede penetration on the target. This is very important to make sure the tip has a smooth transaction | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Slide the arrow head into the slot making sure it is straight. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Before tying the arrow head in place it is much easier to deal with if you can get a vice and clamp it still. be sure not to get it too tight and use a rag to make sure the arrow shaft is not damaged by the vice. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Seperate a thin thin thin sliver of the hasping string to be used in tying the arrow head in place. remember that the smaller the diameter while still keeping it thick enough to be strong the better. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This is what the wrapping will look like. The flatter it is kept the better it will shoot into the target or game animal. Keep the wraps as smooth as possible and as tight as possible without breaking the string. Smooth is the key word here. . | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Before glueing the arrow head and wrappings in place make sure the arrow head is lined up straight with the shaft. You will be able to see this clearer by spinning the shaft and looking at the tip of the arrow head. If the slot is off just a little bit you can use a small piece of paper to shim it back to a straight position. you may have to fold the paper to make it thicker for a larger adjustment. this is a super critical step. make sure it is as straight as possible. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| After adjusting the arrow head for alignment with the arrow shaft simply tear the excess paper off while leaving part of it in the slot. This will help hold the arrow head permanently into place. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Coat the entire wrapping with super glue. Also make sure the super glue is squeezed into the slot all the way around the arrow head. Dont let your fingers get stuck by rubbing the glue into the slot. Just wait untill it dries and soak it again untill all the cracks are full. A person can also use 5 minute epoxy. However, it seems super glue penetrates deeper. Let is cure for at least 30 minutes before use. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
