The floor tillered Stave is simply a roughed out bow that is ready for final tillering . The bends in the limbs are relativly correct with few hinges or stiff spots so you can get right to the process of fine tuning the tillering and dropping the draw weight. Most of the hard work is finished for you already These staves are able to bend roughly 6-9 inches and need to small amounts of wood removed with a cabinet scraper or rasp to correct minor adjustments in the limbs and drop them to your desired draw weight. Simply work out the small hinges and stiff spots by scraping and rasping very small amounts of wood off of the belly side of the limbs. . There will not be too many. They all come with string grooves roughed in for you . They come in many combinations for your personal tastes and needs.

Floor tillered Stave for building the famous Sudbury bow. Wampanoag Indian bow from the year 1660 This famous bow belonged to an unfortunate Wampanoag Indian who was shot by a settler in Sudbury MA in 1660. The settler passed the bow down as a family hierloom. $45

Penobscot indian bow stave, kit $95

Solid hickory 2 piece floor tillered Penobscot indian kit.The back bopw is pre tillered and only needs to be attached after the tilleirng on the main bow is finished. Simply tiller the main bow to the lowest draw weight you want and attach the back bow by glueiing and adding a couple of recessed screws fopr strength. its that simple.

A simple Challenge in bow making for the Novice.! If you love a not too hard of a Challenge in bow making you might be surprized at how easy this bow comes together for you. Made from solid hickory in the same design as in the Encyclopedia of bows and arrows by Jim Hamm this little bow packs a punch when shot. Roughed in string grooves and floor tillered so all you have top do is finish the finer tillering and drop it to the draw weight you need.
